How to keep trumpet mouthpiece from changing color?
After awhile, my trumpet mouthpieces get a brass color where they go into the trumpet. What is this? Is there any way to keep this from happening? And is there a way to remove this color if it has already happened?
If it is getting a brass color, then ten to one the silver or nickel plating is just wearing down from just putting it into the instrument. Don't worry, this is a natural occurrence when you play a lot. It just means you're doing a good job and practicing!
There really isn't any way to keep it from happening.
